Two Firsts

In 2000 when Stephen Howard sold James Ashbrook his first ever new excavator, neither party knew that by early 2007, Ashbrook's then fleet of over 20 excavators would be almost of a single brand.

After three years away from the business and Ashbrook's total departure from the original brand, Stephen Howard and his newly formed company, Howard Plant Sales Limited secured their first order for Volvo Utility Equipment with three new Volvo excavators sold to JK Ashbrook Ltd.

J K Ashbrook Ltd operate in the Northwest of England utilising their fleet within their operated and self drive plant hire business, plus their own groundworks, construction and civil engineering contracts. With particular expertise and focus on the agricultural and equestrian sectors of the market, Ashbrook's diverse fleet utilisation has enabled continual growth through the recent harsh trading environment.

JK Ashbrook Ltd and Howard Plant Sales Ltd agreed the deal for two ECR28s and one ECR48 based on the superior build quality and after sales support associated with the Volvo product and perhaps of equal importance, the mutual trust and understanding between the two principles.

On delivery, James said "I made the call and that was it, I received prompt answers and a clear and concise deal was put to me, I have taken delivery of my first Volvo ECR48, it is early days, however, I am very impressed with the machine".

Stephen Howard commented "I am delighted to be back in the business, the industry remains a no-nonsense people's industry and it's great to be part of it. Selling James his first excavator in 2000 and him buying the first machine sold by Howard Plant Sales is testimony to the importance of strong business relationships".
